Default Omens of War Tomes / Runes

Ok, Let's try to gather information about how to obtain or new Omens of War combat ability and discipline tomes and which skills and disciplines are actually available to us.

Here's what I found out so far:
_____________________________

The spells/tomes are acquired in a similar manner than Planes of Power, through turn in quests. The NPC for the turn in is the same for all classes. His name is Karsor the Mad and he is located in Dranik's Scar at around loc -1650, -50.

The items we are looking for are the Muramite Runes
  • Minor Muramite Rune: lvl 66 spells
  • Lesser Muramite Rune: lvl 67 spells
  • Muramite Rune: lvl 68 spells
  • Greater Muramite Rune: lvl 69 spells (nodrop)
  • Glowing Muramite RUne: lvl 79 spells (nodrop)
The runes drop from various nameds across all OoW zones it seems, of course depending on difficulty (Greater and Glowing will drop of Raid type mobs while Minor and lesser can drop from 1 groupable nameds).

_____________________

Our tomes according to Lucy are:

66 ~ Axe of the Destroyer
Stat Axe
Axe of the Destroyer
Damage: 49 Delay: 26
AC:5 STR:10 STA:7 HP:50 END:50
SVF:7 SVC:7
Range 175

66 ~ Unpredictable Rage Discipline
"Tanking" Discipline. Defensive Proc means that you have a chance to proc this spell when being hit.
67 ~ Crippling Strike
New Snare
68 ~ Mind Strike
New Stun (works up to level 70)
68 ~ Unflinching Will Discpline
1 minute Spell immunity discpline
69 ~ Baffling Strike
New Jolt skill (This needs tweaking in my opinion. Less than 10% increase in agro reduction but more than 25% increase in endurance cost).
70 ~ Vengeful Flurry Discipline
New Burst DPS discipline
The most significant difference to the Planes of Power turn in quests is that there seems to be a fixed order in which you recieve the tomes in case that there are more than one for each level, so duplicate spells / tomes should be a non-issue.
(Gänseblümchen from Kael reported that his first 66 Rune turn in return the stat axe, and the first 68 rune turn in return Mind Strike.)

Just used Mind Strike and it required a Deathfury Axe as a reagent.

Crippling Strike uses a Deathfury Axe as well.

Default Greater and below runes

Hi,
I have seen Greater and below runes drop from 1 group nameds in Wall of Slaughter (WoS) and the Muramite Proving Grounds (PG) so far. The greater was x2, Muramite x 3, Lesser x 1, Minor x 4. They seem to drop uncommon-semi-rare. Mobs in WoS drop ornate hp/mana/stat type things instead usually instead of the runes. PG nameds drop a rune in about 1/2 or so it seems, dropping VT+/Elemental- type gear.

Side note - Mob named Shadowhunter in WoS is not a normal 1 group mob. He AE Gflux for 2k and quads for 2600max. I tanked him last night on my BL and he dropped an attuneable 18/20, proc: Runic, sceptre. The 5 other groups that tried him (3 warriors and 2 pallys) all failed by the way, go BL power. 'Tis better to get missed, than to not be missed at all...hehe. Reflexive Mastery 3 of 5 seems to work nicely btw, I highly recommend it. Grisz is ill equipped for this or I would have tried with him.

Glowing were dropping tonight in PG (Muramite Proving Grounds) off of some of the room names. I saw two of of Sentinel S-whatever, one each time he popped.

From one of the OoW Dev Chats:

Quote:
<Brannoc> *Fanon_EMarr* Will we continue to see rune-style spell turn-ins in OoW or will there be a return to the actual dropped spells? In addition, will any spells besides transit-relate be available from vendors at release?
<Rytan> The spell acquisition system for Omens is going to be a lot like the PoP system, except that you’ll get a different rune for each level set, and you won’t get repeats of the same spell when you turn them in. We don’t plan on having any non-travel spells on vendors at release.

From your experience and from your comment in another thread, I guess it really is bugged and only checks for the spell tomes that are on your character and not those that are already scribed. Go ahead and make a /bug report and /petition about it, although I wouldn't exp much success to your petition until the problem has been official verified and is being fixed / pending fixes.

ikky 4 is a rather difficult area to go to once a guild has passed it they never want to go back. IS their something similiar or somewhere else that a Tainted axe of hatred type ranged item could be acquired?

Has the turn in changed for these?

Because i was told to turn in my Muramite Rune to Brother Hidden in Undershore. And the turn in did produce the mind strike. But boy would it be easier to turn in to karsor rather than this guy

Though i did do my turn in for the 70 and 66 runes to Karsor the mad and that worked too.

posting here because this seems to be the place.

Having some difficulty understanding our abilities vs diciplines. Did our abilities drop off at 65 but our discs. continued into 70? I see the full write-ups of both but they seem old and was wondering if there is more to gain after 65 than just rune discs?

Thanks for reply, didnt quite answer my question but I think I understand. Abilities fall in the line of stuns, snares, cries and jolts?
Discs cover everything else I assume. What I was wondering is do the runes for levels 66 - 70 cover new abilities and discs? or are there more elsewhere?

Nice facepaint btw. Ogre with clown paint reminds me of "Here's Johny!" http://www.3dlegends.com/models/mk_h...johny_mk.html#
